Social impact

Eco Ladder CIC

A developing social-impact initiative connected to D8 Property Group, focused on creating accessible routes into property, energy-efficiency and housing-compliance careers.

The idea

Programme in development

Eco Ladder CIC is a developing social-impact initiative focused on creating accessible pathways into property, energy-efficiency and housing-compliance careers. Its intended model connects awareness, recognised training, qualification, accreditation, mentoring and readiness for genuine work opportunities.

The initiative is initially focused on Croydon and South London. Delivery remains subject to funding, partnerships and programme arrangements, and nothing on this page describes a confirmed or funded national programme.

The intended relationship with the wider group is straightforward:

Eco Ladder → Workforce development → D8 delivery opportunities

Please be clear on this

  • The programme is initially focused on Croydon and South London.
  • Delivery remains subject to funding, partnerships and programme arrangements.
  • Participation does not guarantee employment or paid work.
  • Regulated work requires the appropriate qualification, accreditation, insurance and onboarding checks.
  • Suitable candidates may be referred towards recognised training or future opportunities.
Intended pathway

Seven stages, from interest to opportunity

This is the model Eco Ladder CIC intends to deliver. Stages will be confirmed as funding and partnership arrangements are settled.

  1. Stage 1

    Awareness

Explaining what property, energy assessment and compliance roles actually involve day to day.

  2. Stage 2

    Recognised training

Signposting to recognised training providers for the qualifications the sector requires.

  3. Stage 3

    Qualification

Supporting candidates through the qualification route relevant to the role they are aiming for.

  4. Stage 4

    Accreditation

Explaining accreditation, insurance and the checks needed before regulated work can be carried out.

  5. Stage 5

    Mentoring

Practical mentoring from people who attend properties and produce reports for a living.

  6. Stage 6

    Work readiness

Preparing candidates for real appointments: conduct, evidence standards and resident contact.

  7. Stage 7

    Opportunity referral

Referring suitable candidates towards recognised training or future opportunities as they arise.
